Clam Dig

Anybody got a shovel? I need somebody to dig this thing out of my chest. Ive had this stupid weak ass coldish thing since monday. Its getting a little old. Its not even like im sick. Im like 95% NOT sick. Its just that the 5% of me that is sick is the 5% i use to effing breathe. In other news, I need to get out of southern california, and i think i am showing the beginning stages of a rare strain of agoraphobia. This strain is the kind where you dont leave your house unless you're on a bike. Im not stoked on these recent developments. I am stoked on "its always sunny in philadelphia". So funny. And im stoked on really bad metal. That has always been the case though. Venom and Celtic Frost are currently tops on the list.

cyclocross mania

As of late, things have been weird. I've got a case of the blues i imagine from the huge amount of blues i've been listening to. Mainly Albert King, Otis Rush, Elmore James (currently my fave). It seems the only thing to get me out of my funk was to perhaps plan for the upcoming cyclocross season (which is like 4 months off, i know). Anyhoo, i rolled with my friend sasha up to for park and plotted out a full cyclocross loop that involves 2 dismounts, and a run up, a little pavement and a little grass and a dirt road descent! It looks like fun. I should have brought my camera and plotted out a course. I think i'll do that tomorrow.

Im kind of wondering how i should go about the whole, "is this against the law?" aspect of bringing like myself and 6 or 7 people to practice there on say.... wednesdays? Im thinking im going to go with the whole "its easier to get forgiveness than permission" angle and just print up some flyers and whoever shows, shows. Unless somebody can get me an in with the parks and recreation department, and thinks they can make it happen that way. I'll ask around. And by ask around, i mean hope somebody will read this and do the work for me.

pictures soon.

rode with a redlands veteran today.

Andrew Haglund, while being one of my favorite male clients, is also an avid cyclist who could probably throttle me even today, but today i had a fighting chance because its been like 15 months since he has been riding with any kind of consistency. Took a couple of laps around sunset then i cut his hair. The experience was enjoyable and i hope i get the chance to do it more often. He's like, knee deep in school, so i considered myself lucky to get out there with him today. ive got a little more training to do today, as i took yesterday off to learn some sweet knife handling skills. And i have to get my hair cut as well. I think this is the eventual look im striving towards.

im also looking for a christian bale sort of look in my midsection to bicep area. So i think clubbells and pilates will be happening today as well.

come to the sabbath

im back. After many saturdays off, i went on the saturday group ride, and didnt turn off at victoria, as prescribed by super-coach ashley kipp. Let me start off by saying, that typically, i do a LOT of work and get dropped around the time the fast group bridges. By typically of course, i mean every effing time. This time i said to myself "you havent done the long ride on saturday in a month and a half, just sit in dude". I sat in. I didnt get dropped. It was sweet. My legs feel good, my lungs feel good. i feel good over all. boderline great. Also, i go to see tornado tom, the idiot chiro in the xxxl rabobank jersey (which he has since traded in for a quickstep kit that actually fits) who was dragging around the poor woman who crashed, crash himself. But it was a fittingly STUPID crash. He thankfully didnt take anybody down this time (im still not convinced he didnt take that poor woman out), he was apparently unable to unclip from his $7,000.00 s-works rig, and went completely upside-down onto his back with the bike straight up in the air! HAHAHAHA! Hope he needs his neck adjusted....off.

Apparently Mark is going to help me brush up on my swimming skills, although he seemed somewhat unwilling to take place in other aquatic activities with me..... Thats good cuz apparently im doing a half iron around this time next year. Yay.

I told mark that in honor of all the SDA's that go on the ride on saturday i try to listen to come to the sabbath by mercyful fate before every saturday ride. Craig turner managed to laugh whilst i hobbit kept "accidently" veering traffic into him and cutting him off. This one's for you craig.

somebody call the waaaaaaaahmbulance

feeling quite sorry for myself lately. Kinda feels like im a ghost in the room, kind of like that king diamond song, invisible guest. Need bens help to finish building my bike/talk to him about wheels. No call back ever. Dunno if im supposed to do 3 second or 3 minute sprints tomorrow. neither makes too much sense. Still waiting on super-coach's response. Need to find cantilever bosses which were inexplicably not included with my bike. Went to cycletek. No help. Went to cyclery. They'll call me back (shah....). Called easton , the manufacturers of said fork. They actually did call me back but, i have no idea what the lady on the other end of the message was saying as far as getting me new bosses. She said where they should have been, and i agree, they should have been there, but they weren't and now im still boss-less. Called he back, no answer, left a message for her to call me back. Again. Still waiting. Asked a few questions to ebay sellers. No response ever. I realize i sound like total cry-baby, but you have to admit thats a lot of no-care-ever being thrown my way. Maybe i am an invisible guest. Maybe i should paint my face like this at the next "dangerous meeting" i sign up for, it might get me more noticed...
